What We Believe

Statement of Faith

The Bible

We Believe – that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God – absolute in authority and complete in revelation.  The Holy Spirit gives understanding to the divine truth of the Bible. God’s plan of redemption through the work of Jesus the Messiah is the central theme of Scripture.

The Trinity

We Believe – that God is one God revealed in the triune Godhead: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

God the Father is eternal and almighty. By His Word he created heaven and earth. He is Redeemer, King, and Judge.

Jesus Christ is Son of God and Son of man. He was born of a virgin by the Holy Spirit. He died on a cross, the just for the unjust, as a substitutionary sacrifice. He rose from the dead and ascended to the majesty on high where He intercedes for us, our great High Priest.

The Holy Spirit brings glory to Christ and not Himself. He leads us into all truth and empowers the believer for holy living. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment.

Redemption

We Believe – that mankind was created in the image of God but fell through disobedience and came under the power of sin, death, and Satan. Through faith in Jesus and His atoning sacrifice, man is redeemed and reborn into the family of God.

The Church

We Believe – that the Church is the body and bride of Christ Jesus. The Church consists of all those who are redeemed through His blood and are born again by the Holy Spirit. The Church has been commissioned by Jesus “to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:19-20

The Second Coming

We Believe – that Jesus will return to earth a second time: personally, bodily, and visibly. His coming shall make visible to all creation the triumph of His redemption plan. He will institute the final judgment of all mankind; those who do not believe will be separated from God’s presence, but those who have believed on the Son of God, in glorified bodies, will live and reign with Him forever. Then shall the eager expectation of creation be fulfilled and the whole earth will proclaim the glory of God who creates a new heaven and a new earth.
