Who Are we?
“Liebenzell Mission of Canada exists to glorify God and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ”
Liebenzell Mission of Canada is part of Liebenzell Mission International (LMI) – an international, evangelical Christian mission founded in 1899, born of spiritual revival in Germany. Liebenzell Mission was initially the German Branch of the China Inland Mission, later branching out on its own under the name of Liebenzell, after the town where the mission set up its headquarters.
As an organization we have always taken our Lord’s great commission as one of the Church’s primary purposes, this great commission is expressed at the end of the book of Matthew.
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)
Because we believe evangelizing and spreading the good news far and wide to be paramount to Christ’s calling to us as christians we support missionaries from seven sending countries. The 250 missionaries from these countries are filling a variety of ministry roles, serving in 25 countries around the world.
This video explains some of what Liebenzell Mission does around the world! It was narrated by Sam Strauss, one of LM Canada’s senior staff members and an extended version of the above video is available here.

How does it work?
Missionaries sent out by Liebenzell’s sending countries work as part of international teams on LMI approved mission fields, with an elected Field Leader who helps the team: support each other, establish goals, and work towards mission field objectives. Field leaders are accountable to the International Coordinator, elected by the joint ministries representatives of LMI. This international Management Committee meets yearly and consults regularly throughout the year regarding joint international efforts.
Liebenzell’s home office ministries include outreach and evangelism in the home country as well as support for international missions endeavours. Each sending country of Liebenzell also has programs in its own country, designed to reach people of all ages for Christ and ignite within the hearts of these people a passion for ministry and international service. Many of Liebenzell’s sending countries have multi-cultural populations which allow a first step towards reaching the nations with God’s love and hope. For example, Liebenzell Mission of Canada works with immigrants to the Greater Toronto Area, providing physical help and sharing the gospel with those who are open to hear it.
